Having started in 2018, us at Terraquip Drilling Equipment were counting on 2020 to develop and grow the IMT name in the market. For many of us, especially young companies, this year was one of the most eventful years of our lives.
In 2020, out of approximately 25 new machines sold and commissioned on the market, Terraquip accounted for five piling rigs. Out of these, three were 40 ton class and two 60 ton class IMT piling rigs.
On the second hand market, there were a total of approximately 20 machines changing owners. TerraQuip have intermediated six of those deals.
The total market share for Piling Rigs used for Large Diameter Pile or Kelly Bar, Continuous Flight Auger, Low Headroom and Soil Mixing, was approximately 35 millions Australian Dollars. This amount decreased by an estimated 30% compared to 2019, when a total number of 36 units were sold in the Australian and New Zealand market.
In these rough economic conditions, Terraquip managed to consolidate its position on the market.
Based on research and interviews we conducted in the last quarter of this year, the new Piling Rig market will increase by an estimated 25% compared to 2020. While the used machine market will probably keep a consistent trend with 20 used units.
As for TerraQuip, we prepare for an increase of about 25%. This increase will be represented by new IMT models being introduced to the Australian Market, such as the long awaited multi-purpose A70 (20 ton class rig) and the A290 (80 ton class rig).
We are looking forward to a new exciting 2021 in the world of Piling. Should you have any questions about new or used Piling Equipment, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
